If you’re having issues with your game Palworld and you use an NVIDIA graphics card, here’s a helpful tip. The game may not work well with some newer drivers, especially with DirectX 11 games. You might see lower frames per second (FPS) and graphic problems even if you lower the game’s settings.

If you own an NVIDIA GeForce 660 TI card, try using driver version 472.12. This driver doesn’t add new features but focuses on security updates. It should help with the game launch issues and black screen problem. For a better result, make sure to do a clean installation of this driver. You can download it from the NVIDIA website.

Here is a list of graphics cards that are compatible with driver version 472.12:

GeForce RTX 30 Series:
  • RTX 3090, 3080 Ti, 3080, 3070 Ti, 3070, 3060 Ti, 3060
GeForce RTX 20 Series:
  • RTX 2080 Ti, 2080 SUPER, 2080, 2070 SUPER, 2070, 2060 SUPER, 2060
GeForce 16 Series:
  • GTX 1660 SUPER, 1650 SUPER, 1660 Ti, 1660, 1650
GeForce 10 Series:
  • GTX 1080 Ti, 1080, 1070 Ti, 1070, 1060, 1050 Ti, 1050, GT 1030, GT 1010
GeForce 900 Series:
  • GTX 980 Ti, 980, 970, 960, 950
GeForce 700 Series:
  • GTX 780 Ti, 780, 770, 760, GTX 760 Ti (OEM), GTX 750 Ti, GTX 750, GTX 745, GT 740, GT 730, GT 720, GT 710
GeForce 600 Series:
  • GTX 690, GTX 680, GTX 670, GTX 660 Ti, GTX 660, GTX 650 Ti BOOST, GTX 650 Ti, GTX 650, GTX 645, GT 640, GT 635, GT 630
NVIDIA TITAN Series:
  • TITAN RTX, TITAN V, TITAN Xp, TITAN X (Pascal), GTX TITAN X, GTX TITAN, GTX TITAN Black, GTX TITAN Z
If your card is on this list and you’re having trouble with Palworld not starting properly or getting stuck on a black loading screen, give driver version 472.12 a try after a clean re-installation. This might fix the issue.

It is obvious the problem is on your end. Telling people to roll back to month old drivers is not fixing the problem. I did the above and I am still getting the rolling loading screen of death. Figure it out.

It works fine on community servers but not the official. Why would graphics card drivers be the issue?

I have done this, and every other proposed fix to this problem. It’s not working. The black screen issue has not been solved, I understand this is a good work around for other players, but after 5 days I am still unable to play. Are you still working on this problem, or is this “fix” the only way?

Dear all, reverting back to 472.12 worked for me finally (Although Gamepass version was working just fine, STEAM was impossible to make work).

It works perfectly now on STEAM too, but I will try re-installing latest drivers and use this recommended fix, see if it fixes it.

My GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN

For those following all these steps and it still won't let them try this:

Delete the dwmapi.dll in Pal/Binaries/Win64 folder. That fixed it for me and I have an Nvidia RTC 4070.
