After 24 hours without being able to enter because it stayed on an infinite loading screen, a while ago I was able to enter. In a dungeon I crash the server. When I log in again it asks me to create a new character. Have I lost my 40 hours of gaming?

The game server might not have saved your progress due to a crash, causing your character to lose data. Keep in mind that the game is still in early access.
If you are hosting your own server, you can choose to save the map manually to prevent any progress loss.
